Title: Meet Me Halfway (Chapter Twelve)
Rating: R
Pairing: Tim Lincecum / OFC

Writers Note: This is a short chapter. Hitting sort of a road block. Any suggestions from my readers as to where they would like to see this go?

The alarm went off at 7:00am, loud enough for Kaylee to hear it, but low enough so that it would not wake up Tim. Kaylee smiled contently as she switched the alarm off. She was used to waking up in Tim’s arms, but today was different. They were still sticky from the night before and the smell of sex was in the air. She tried to get out of bed without disturbing Tim, but he must have sensed she was awake.

Tim pulled Kaylee in close to him. “Good Morning Kay”. His eyes were still closed, still half asleep.

“Morning Tim. I’m sorry if I woke you up. Go back to sleep, it’s still early.” Kaylee faced Tim, giving him a soft kiss.

Tim’s eyes fluttered open, with a mischievous look in them. “Hmmm, I had something else in mind really.” He grabbed Kaylee’s hips and pulled her on top of him. She smiled and leaned down to kiss him. He positioned her on top and they continued where they had left off the night before. They came in unison and Kaylee collapsed on top of Tim.

“That was great,” Kaylee mumbled breathlessly.

Tim nibbled lightly on her earlobe as he replied, “I could get used to waking up early”.

Kaylee laughed and playfully smacked Tim with one of the pillows.

“Unfortunately, now I have to hurry and get ready for work before I’m late.” She climbed out of bed and headed towards the bathroom. She turned around and found Tim sitting up in bed. “And as much as I would love you to come follow me - you better stay right there”.

Tim laughed and fell back into bed to drift back off to sleep. Kaylee finished getting ready and quietly slipped out the door and headed to work.

Tim woke up hours later wondering if the past few hours had been a dream. In a way he hoped it was - he had been having the worst few months of his career. Yet in another way he hoped that this was reality - Kaylee made him feel all sorts of happy inside. He hadn’t felt this way in a really long time.

He turned over and picked up his phone from the night stand. ***One Unread Text Message*** Tim smiled when he saw the message from Kaylee.

“Morning Baby. Hopefully you’ve made it out of bed by now. Have a great day - I’ll see you tonight after the game.”

Tim’s smile got bigger - it wasn’t all a dream. It was real. This was his life.
